Its lights are the argument. One reviewer in March found no way to turn them off at all and listed it among his complaints, noting that the maker's more expensive machine had the same fault; another in April says plainly that you can disable the fan's lighting in the firmware. Both were looking at the same model six weeks apart, and nobody can settle it, because GMKtec publishes no firmware for this machine at all. What everyone agrees on is that it stays calm. Under load it sits between 36 and 39 dB(A), the cores hold between 70 and 76 °C, and the lab that measured both found it quieter than the maker's dearer model. It does not lose speed over a long run. Two things to know before buying. The wireless is the weak part: it carries an older Wi-Fi 6 module that measured worst in its reviewer's comparison table, and one reviewer simply recommends replacing the card. And the warranty is one year, where a rival with the identical processor gives three. One reviewer also found a firmware profile that pushes the chip to 65 watts, beyond what AMD specifies for it.
