What owners say
The networking is the whole argument for this machine: two SFP+ 10GbE ports on an Intel X710 plus two 2.5GbE Intel I226, none of which costs you the PCIe slot. Owners running it as a router report the SFP+ ports need the i40e kernel module, because OpenWrt does not see them out of the box. Idle power is where the sources disagree most, and the cause turns out to be the operating system rather than the hardware: reviewers measured between 14 and 29 W, and one owner went from 52 W to 28 W purely by switching the CPU governor from performance to powersave, so anyone buying this to run around the clock should set that before judging it. The i9-13900H runs hot from the factory and the real throttle point is 90 °C, not 100, because the BIOS applies a 10-degree offset. It is quiet at idle and clearly audible flat out, around 44 dB(A). Two details worth knowing before you buy: the PCIe slot is picky, with some cards refusing to boot or physically fouling the chassis, and the three M.2 sockets are not equal — Gen4 x4, Gen3 x4 and Gen3 x2 — so a RAID across them runs at the slowest.
- For whom
- A home lab or firewall box that needs 10GbE and an expansion slot in four litres, and vPro for headless management. One owner has run three 4 TB drives in it continuously for a year and a half with no errors.
- Not for
- Anyone who needs ECC memory, four memory slots or real IPMI, and anyone expecting to game on the Iris Xe graphics.

Notes
- Exact installed Wi-Fi module requires unit-level verification.
- Iris Xe branding depends on dual-channel memory; the barebone kit includes no RAM and installed module topology is not established by its RAM-capacity label.
- The manufacturer overview lists 2 TB per SSD while its table lists 4 TB per SSD; a validated SSD maximum is excluded.
