What owners say

Two magazines, one Japanese and one from Hong Kong, reviewed the NucBox 2 Plus with the Core i5-1135G7 in 2022, and owners add how it has aged. They disagree on noise: the Japanese reviewer found the fan loud under heavier work, while the Hong Kong one called the cooling quiet. The case stays cool, about 45 °C on top and 46 underneath in thermal-camera shots. The standard unit ran its memory single-channel, which one reviewer blames for weak 3D results; the Iris Xe graphics could not run FF15 comfortably, and Apex Legends froze after a while. For work it is a different story: a professional web designer found it comfortably capable. The underside of the lid holds a 2.5-inch drive. The USB-C port is sold as Thunderbolt 4-class, and a verified owner runs an external GPU through it smoothly. One owner has used it for a long time as a Proxmox node but could not get graphics passthrough working for Jellyfin transcoding, and another could not get WSL running under Windows, though he admits it may have been fixable. At launch the 512 GB version cost as much as a laptop with the same processor.
