Three reviewers had this Core Ultra 5 125H box, which shares its chassis with the AMD K6, and the comparison runs through all of them. The fan never really goes quiet — 30 to 36 dB(A) just idling on the desktop, even in Power Saver, in a 23 dB room — though at about 44 dB(A) under gaming load it is quieter than the K6. Under Prime95 it held 45 W and 2.3 GHz with the core at 80 °C. Idle draw is high for a mini PC, about 11 W. Games run 10 to 40% slower than on the K6, and Cyberpunk stuttered over time, so one lab sees little reason to choose the K9 unless you want the NPU; another scored its value 4 out of 5 for creative and office work thanks to its expandability. The front USB-C port is Thunderbolt 4-compatible: a Thunderbolt SSD reached full speed, video worked, and it can power the PC at up to 100 W. Both Realtek 2.5GbE ports reached full speed. Upgrading means prying off the top plate, four screws and a fan cable, to reach two memory and two M.2 2280 slots. Under Linux everything but sound worked at first; an owner found audio needed kernel 6.10. The plastic case feels a little cheap for the price.

Gaming — the AMD K6 in the same case is faster and cheaper — and quiet rooms.
