GEEKOM A9 Max (HX 370)

GEEKOM A9 Max (HX 370) uses AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 with Radeon 890M. The dual Ethernet and USB4 connections support a compact development or creative workspace. Its short secondary SSD slot needs a 2230 drive, and local-AI usefulness depends on available RAM and software support rather than the advertised NPU figure alone.

What owners say

This machine left the factory with its neural processor running at less than half speed, and the review most people read still publishes the broken number. A second reviewer noticed by comparing against a rival carrying the identical processor: 783 points against 1,726. He reported it, GEEKOM sent him newer firmware privately, and the score rose to 1,791 with nothing else affected. Anyone buying one should check the firmware version before drawing any conclusion about its AI performance. The rest is a well-built machine with two recurring complaints. It is loud under load, touching 50 dB(A), and its own reviewer calls the fan control immature; the quiet firmware profile brings that down to 45. And the antenna wiring is a genuine problem. One reviewer tore the connectors off the wireless card while opening the case, describing the cables as having almost no slack, and two owners separately found their antennas simply not connected from the factory, one of them on a machine that had never been plugged in. A third owner's unit rattles like a lawnmower unless he stands it on its side, and support has not solved it since March.

For whom
A well-connected desktop with eight USB ports, two 2.5-gigabit ports and the fastest card reader in its class.
Not for
A quiet room, and opening the case yourself without first reading what happens to those antenna cables.
