In August 2026 a driver package on Geekom's support site was found to contain an executable that antivirus engines flag as a trojan. The outlet that broke the story downloaded the file, hashed it, published the hash and named six machines as affected. This is one of them. Geekom apologised, said the file sat on a legacy page, stated it was removing the affected files, and has never explained how it got there. We looked at this model's live support page today: the all-in-one driver package it still serves is dated April 2025 and its filename lists those same six machines, and the separate network driver beside it is dated March 2025. We did not download either, so we cannot tell you what is inside them — only that they have not been replaced. Set that aside and it is a capable half-litre machine with one oddity worth knowing. Its wireless runs about twice as fast under Linux as under Windows on the same hardware, which is a driver problem rather than an antenna one, and its Bluetooth did not work under Linux at all until one of its reviewers wrote the kernel patch himself and had it accepted upstream.

For whom

A fast, well-connected small desktop with three years of warranty, for someone comfortable taking drivers from Windows Update rather than from the maker.

Not for

Anyone who would run the maker's driver bundle without checking it first, and long heavy sessions, where what overheats is the memory rather than the processor.
