Two reviewers had the 2027 A5 with the Ryzen 7 7730U, both the 16 GB / 512 GB version we list, and one of the reviews appeared the day this was written. It is quiet and frugal: 30 dBA at idle and 33 under load, 9.8 W at idle and 27 to 34 W under load in one lab, with the processor at only about 61 °C, which is why that lab calls GEEKOM's 15 W sustained limit conservative for the cooler. Against the 7430U A5 it is faster, but not dramatically so for office work. Reviewers disagree on whether the case is plastic or metal-and-plastic, and on whether the M.2 slot is Gen 4; the platform runs at PCIe 3.0, so a Gen 4 drive is slowed. One unit had a QLC Kingston SSD, cheaper and less durable than TLC. Both memory slots come filled with 8 GB modules, so an upgrade means replacing both. The screws sit in the feet, which makes it easier to open than the aluminium models, though the base stays tethered by the ribbon for the 2.5-inch bay. There is no USB4 or Thunderbolt. One reviewer calls it one of the best-value machines of 2026; the other finds it noticeably pricier than the original A5 was at launch.
