Three reviewers had this Core i9-13900HK box, and they agree it is calm at the desk: 30 dB at idle and 39 at full load in one test, practically silent at idle and fairly quiet in games in another. On heat they disagree — one says the processor never passed 60 °C under full load, another saw 80 °C peaks even after repasting. It is hungry for a mini PC, 18 W at idle and 84 W at full load in one measurement, and ships in a 54 W Balanced mode, with 45 W Silent and 65 to 70 W Performance modes; one reviewer got worse results in Performance than in Quiet. The larger, slim case opens with one screw to two memory slots and three M.2 slots — two PCIe 4.0 x4 and a slower one that also took an old SATA drive — and the factory SSD has no thermal pad. Memory rated for 5600 runs at 5200, the processor's limit. The front USB-C carries data and video but not power, and there is no USB4 or OCuLink, so an external GPU needs an M.2 adapter. The screw-on antennas give strong Wi-Fi, and a rear RS-232 port suits industrial use. The Iris Xe graphics are the bottleneck: timeline playback stutters in Premiere and Resolve, and recent games are unplayable.

A home lab, media centre or processor-heavy workstation that needs three SSDs and a serial port.

Not for

Gaming or GPU-accelerated video editing, and anyone who wants low idle power.
