What owners say
The N150 version of this kit has one press review and a handful of owners, and between them the story is mostly about Linux. The reviewer, using a unit from ASUS Philippines, saw the chip reach 105 °C in Cinebench and processor use spike to 100% just from opening File Explorer, though without visible lag; four YouTube videos across a 4K monitor and a second screen played without buffering. An owner says it is practically inaudible on default settings. It opens with four screws in the feet, and memory and SSD are easy to reach, though a buyer found the Wi-Fi card hard to remove. The Realtek 2.5GbE port is the recurring problem under Linux: stock Linux Mint had no sound or network in July 2025 until Mint 22.2 fixed it; a server owner needed a kernel around 6.15 and a DKMS driver; and several owners saw Ethernet fail after a soft reboot but not after a full power-off, cured for some by reboot=acpi pcie_aspm=off. One buyer's unit went back to ASUS, returned with a new motherboard and Windows, and lost its network again under Linux. The BIOS is thorough, down to the front LED, but English only. The reviewer rated its value 6 out of 10, since the price excludes memory, SSD and Windows.
- For whom
- A quiet Windows office PC or Home Assistant host, for someone who will supply memory and storage.
- Not for
- Linux servers where the network must survive every reboot, and buyers chasing value: rivals include memory and storage for similar money.

Notes
- Measured wall power, acoustic measurements and configuration-matched benchmark results remain unverified.
- The ASUS web table labels 2280 NVMe and 2242 SATA as Slot 1 and Slot 2, but the NUC14MNK-B manual explicitly describes one connector with alternative mounting lengths. This reference follows the installation manual and does not promise simultaneous dual-SSD support.
