- 2 × DDR5-4800 SO-DIMM, up to 32 GB (2 × 16 GB) for this CPU generation; 1 × M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe slot (ASUS-listed SSDs up to 2 TB) and a 7 mm 2.5-inch SATA bay. RAM and storage are not included. Dual-channel memory is required for the advertised Iris Xe graphics configuration.

- The ASUS product guide assigns a 120 W external adapter to PN64 i5/i7 models; the family-wide 90 W option belongs to i3 models. Confirm the adapter voltage and connector against the exact kit before replacement. Rated output is not measured wall power.

What owners say
Two reviewers and three owners had the PN64 with the Core i7-12700H, and they describe a machine held back by its power limits. At stock one lab's multi-core score came in below other reviews; lifting the limits with ThrottleStop raised Cinebench R23 by about a quarter, with the processor averaging 92 °C instead of 72. The other reviewer lists the power limit and weak performance under heavy load among its cons. The fan is loud at full speed in Normal mode, but the machine is virtually silent in lighter use; an owner who runs Android emulators on it barely hears it, yet found full-load noise too much for a main PC. The BIOS has Normal and Quiet fan profiles. ASUS cut the stated memory maximum for 12th-generation units from 64 to 32 GB after launch. Four screws open the base, which is tied to the board by a ribbon cable, and the Intel AX211 Wi-Fi card sits in a replaceable slot. On Linux, Ubuntu 22.04 would not sleep properly until the owner set mem_sleep_default=deep, and the EndeavourOS installer misbehaved on the 12th-generation graphics while Manjaro installed cleanly. The plastic build is sturdy enough. Both reviews list the rear HDMI ports as 2.0, where ASUS says 2.1.

- A compact office PC or Linux box with a fast processor that stays quiet at light load, for someone happy to tune its power limits.

- Sustained heavy work at stock settings, quiet rooms under full load, and more than 32 GB of memory.
