Three reviewers had this Core Ultra X7 358H machine with 64 GB of soldered memory, and they agree it is quiet while questioning its price. Tom's Hardware measured 32 dBA at idle and 38 at full load, but the processor runs hot — 80 to 88 °C in a long gaming session and up to 90 °C in Cinebench, in a warm room. It draws about 13 W at idle and peaks around 72 W. GMKtec advertises an 80 W mode that one reviewer could not find in the BIOS, and another found that any limit above 60 W reverted to 60 W on saving. Two fans cool it, a blower for the processor and a 92 mm fan for memory and SSDs. There is a PCIe 5.0 slot, and one reviewer found the factory Gen 4 QLC drive sitting in it and recommends moving it; an owner believes the opposite, so check before adding a drive. The metal wrap covers a plastic shell that opens with thumbscrew feet and four small screws. GMKtec's bundled AI tools are partly in Chinese and come with stickers warning not to go online on first boot, and local models run on the Arc B390 graphics rather than the NPU. Both press reviewers note that GMKtec's own EVO-X2 with a Ryzen AI Max+ 395 costs only $40 to $100 more and is more powerful.
