More than ten reviewers had this N100 box when it launched at the end of 2023, which makes it one of the best-documented budget mini PCs. It is quiet — barely audible by most accounts, around 40 dBA at 5 cm under load in the most sensitive test, with a brief loud burst at boot — and frugal, drawing 6 to 10 W at idle and about 24 to 26 W at full load at the wall. No lab saw throttling, with peaks between 60 and 82 °C depending on the room and the test. The default power limits differed between units, and the BIOS fan modes change the sustained limit but made little difference to performance. The 16 GB it ships with sits in a single DDR5 slot and is the ceiling, so memory is single-channel for good; the one M.2 slot holds a fast stock Lexar drive, and there is no 2.5-inch bay. The front USB-C port is picky — only one of three drives and docks worked, at 5 Gbps — and the SD reader runs at USB 2.0 speed. A single gigabit port rules it out as a firewall. Wi-Fi was underwhelming in Windows but fast in Ubuntu, where everything installed without missing drivers. Windows 11 Pro comes clean. Stronger Ryzen boxes now cost about the same.
