Dell OptiPlex 7010 Micro (13500T)

What owners say

Very little first-hand writing exists about Dell's 7010 Micro with this exact chip: it is mostly bought by companies, and few owners write about it. What they report fits a small, capable corporate box. A Japanese owner issued one by his employer for remote work finds it fast enough even for analysis work and appreciates how little desk space it takes, but says the fan has to work hard in so small a case and gets loud at times; another owner runs an 8 GB unit as a home server and hears nothing at all. There is little room for expansion, though the ports cover the basics. The one serious report is for home-lab builders: a new unit crashed with a purple screen as soon as the VMware ESXi installer loaded its drivers, on both ESXi 7.0.3 and 8.0.1, and changing the processor and C-state options in the BIOS did not help. The factory Windows 11 booted normally, and that unit came with DDR4 memory.

For whom

Office and remote work on a company desk, or a quiet Windows or Linux home server.

Not for

VMware ESXi home labs — the installer crashed on both versions tried — and anyone who needs internal expansion.
